In the fall of 1998 a small group of people sat around a kitchen table and bounced around ideas for a church for the unchurched. We realized that faith was important, though somewhat evasive, for many people, while church was pretty much irrelevant to all but a few.
What if we could cut away the traditional trappings of religion, create an inviting environment and build a community where all were welcomed, loved and felt cared for?
It was a bold agenda that led to the launching of an altogether different kind of church that has emerged into what Genesis is today, a source of faith, hope and life to hundreds of people of all ages and ethnicity.
For the unconnected, the disconnected or those just plain disappointed with church, we exist in the words of Jesus, ‘to seek and to save those that are lost.”
